This section is situated at the position where the Reverberation module of the Synthi was. Reason : Once, the suitcase, being on power, fell off a table. This crashed the reverb-amp of the circuit. But I couldn't find a replacement for the IC. Although my modifications normally are additions, not changes of the original design, I decided to remove the section. This led to space for another application, two positions for a potmeter and some spare I/O lines on the patchboard. I chose for a DC-amp circuit. So the logic replacement for the pots was the control on bias and amplification. This is enhanced with a switch to invert the outputsignal. And a switch connecting the input with the output of the trapezoid voltage of the envelope shaper, as a preset. This, because it's quite a common demand, to have an inverse of the trapezoid voltage as well. People used to do this by exporting the trapezoid signal to output B of the meter, and wiring it to a synthi input. The replacement on the patchboard : This circuit only has one input, so the original AC-input for the reverb at line G is not needed. So the input is line M and the output is line 14. |
