The jv16 PowerTools network troubleshooter
This documentation gives solutions for many basic network problems.

Can windows ping the other computer?
Start the windows command prompt and write "ping ip" where the ip is, of course, the other computer's ip address. If you get "Connection timed out" error then the network is not working. Fix the network problem before trying to use jv16 PowerTools network features.

Go to the server computer. Go to jv16 PowerTools > Preferences > Network. Make sure the "Enabled" and "This computer works as the server" are checked. Does the list below contain all the computers in your network? If not, add them.

Go to the server computer. Go to jv16 PowerTools > Preferences > Network Security. Make sure that the list contains all the IP addresses in your network. You can try to add "*.*.*.*" as one IP address to try whether your network problems are caused by wrong IP settings. To see you own computer's IP address start jv16 PowerTools. Start the console (e.g with Alt + C), write "Show IP" and hit enter.

Are you using any software firewall programs, such as ZoneAlarm?
If you are, you must give jv16 PowerTools (jv16 PowerTools.exe and jv16PT_Network.exe) right to act as server and use ports 8961-8969.
